Hypoallergenic dogs seem to be all the rage lately, especially for children with allergies that desperately want a puppy.?But are these dogs really allergen free??A recent study says not so much.

Most hypoallergenic dogs are said to shed less than other dog breeds such as English Bulldog puppies.?And this part is relatively true.?Breeds such as Labradoodles are mixed with Poodles who do shed very little.?But dog hair isn抰 the only thing that causes allergies in humans.?The dander from the dog is more irritating to allergies than the hair.

So do hypoallergenic dogs have different dander than other breeds??Maybe.?But that doesn抰 mean that they have any less allergens than English Bulldog puppies, for example.?A study done showed that there was little scientific difference between hypoallergenic dog dander and other breeds.?

That doesn抰 mean that hypoallergenic dogs aren抰 good for those with pet allergies.?For some reason not yet known to us, people that generally become a sneezing mess around dogs are fine around these breeds that are hypoallergenic.?Maybe it抯 something in their skin that we haven抰 found out about yet.?Or maybe it抯 all in our heads.

So what do you do if you love your English Bulldog puppy but can抰 stop sneezing around him??Allergies to pets are completely treatable.?Over the counter medicines can work wonders.?If that does not work, see your doctor for an allergy test to discover what exactly it is that you抮e allergic too.?It might now be your puppy at all.?Whatever it is wreaking havoc on your sinuses, your doctor can prescribe an allergy medicine or recommend a yearly allergy shot to take away all your symptoms.

We all love pets and especially love the wrinkly faces of our English Bulldog puppies or whatever breed you own, whether his hypoallergenic status is myth or truth.
