I know you did not mean to hurt the dog you love so much but if you do not spend time to be informed on what is unsafe and deadly around the house you are likely to expose your friend to very dangerous substances which includes the food that you enjoy for yourself.
Because your dog cannot read,they are really expecting you to do the reading and deciphering for them. Just like children, if your dog see you eating something they are thinking that it is also safe for them to eat but it is not so. Do you realize that many food type that is good for you could be extremely unhealthy and sometimes dangerous for your dog?
Providing healthy dog treats for your Labrador Retriever dog and puppy is a responsibility you take seriously but we need to realize that though they are an integral part of the family, they are VERY different from us therefore food nutritional values awareness is essential.
And to make it even worse, your Lab Retriever is very 'nosey'. They get into everybody's business and always want a taste of anything they find. Hiding things from your puppy is not as easy as hiding from your children because of their natural ability to smell things from afar. Would be nice to just label them for a reading dog to know when something is not good to eat.
But how would you label something as 'dangerous' if you are seen eating it ever so often? Let's take for example, chocolate. We see chocolate as a healthy treat for us being high in antioxidants and tasty, and since our dogs love tasty treats we would even offer a piece to our precious little friend for good measure, but that little piece of chocolate could be deadly to your dog.
Chocolate contains a variety of chemicals which are called 'methylxanthine alkaloids' The bad thing about this is that a very small amount of these chemicals are capable of causing such serious problems as clogging arteries, rapidly increasing the heart rate thus causing an heart attack. Allowing your Labrador to drink chocolate milk or to eat chunks of chocolate is reason to make an emergency visit to the vet.
Another food that can be downright dangerous is Mushroom. According to the experts, not all but some mushrooms can cause severe abdominal pain, kidney and liver damage and amenia. It is very easy for you to be out walking your dog in the woods and they find a bit of wild mushroom. The dog might like it but it can be very harmful.
You would think that the food you give to your baby should be safe for your baby dog, but, no. It is not. Your baby food could contain garlic and onion, and though these might be good for your baby they can cause vomiting, liver damage, anemia and diarrhea to your Labrador Retriever dog and puppy.
Having a daily cup or two of coffee may be normal for you but please do not share it with your dog. The boosting effect that caffeine has on you could create seizures, coma and even death to your dog.
We talked about how good it would be if your dog could read, but people, grown adults that read very well, do not realize how dangerous and absolutely deadly Antifreeze is.
Antifreeze has a good taste to it and can be easily consumed by your adventurous Labrador Retriever if they get the chance to. Please take great care not to give them that chance, period.
Moth Balls can be very deceiving to a dog. Its appearance and smell makes it rather inviting but the primary chemical it contains, 'naphthalene' is extremely toxic to dogs and can result in serious tremors and seizures.
Needless to say how dangerous it is to feed your dog with manufactured shelf food you buy from the store. Well, maybe that's how you eat, but remember, you have a choice.
Your Labrador Retriever puppy is depending on you to provide organic and natural dog diets and make the best, most healthy and safe choices for them because remember?. they cannot read.
