Is Your Dog Urinating Inside? Do You Have A Behavior Problem?

26 9:44:56
Peeing inside is one of the dog behavior problems that bothers lots of people. The number one reason that dogs pee inside is incomplete house training.

House training a dog or new puppy will take reliable effort initially. Although it may seem that accidents are inevitable, ideally you want to prevent them. The less accidents the better and faster you will house train your dog.

Although it is ideal to not have any accidents, This may be an unrealistic expectation. Only ever reprimand your dog with a loud "No"' or "Out" if you catch your puppy in mid stream.

Otherwise, just clean up the area properly with a product from the pet store to remove the smell or try the following procedure. Start by soaking up the liquid with paper towel, treat it with 50% vinegar. Dry up the vinegar and cover the area with baking soda.

The last part is to pour 3% peroxide over the baking soda so that it bubbles. Then dry the area again with paper towel. Wait for the area to be completely dry before vacuuming.

Be aware that the peroxide may discolor the area, so try a test patch in an inconspicuous place first.

Incomplete house training isn't the only reason that your dog may urinate inside. Understanding the reason behind your dogs behavior can help solve the problem.

Why Dogs Urinate Inside

1. Medical Causes

It is wise to exclude a health problem before assuming that there are any dog behavior problems. Particularly if your dog is older even though medical problems can occur at any age.

2. - Waiting to Long To Take Your Dog Outside or Not Teaching Your Dog How To Tell You, They Need Out.

Don't forget that dogs need to go outside within 30 minutes of a meal, after they've drunk a lot of water, after exercise, after a nap, before bed, at least every couple of hours for a puppy and every 3-4 hours during the day for an adult.

3. A Preferred, Pre-learned or Pre-soiled Area

Really just it's just that they haven't learned house training properly yet. Dogs like to pee where they or other dogs have previously peed and this is why stopping accidents is best. Because of this you really need to clean up carefully so that your dog (whose nose is much more perceptive than yours) won't relieve himself in the same place.

4. Excitement or Submissive Elimination

This usually happens when someone or some animal surprises, threatens or excites your dog.

5. Marking Territory

Usually found mainly in male dogs but this can sometimes occur in female dogs. Usually caused by social triggers like the arrival of a new animal or a dominance problem.

6. Getting Your Attention

In this case generally right in front of you. Usually occurs with barking, jumping on you, nipping, licking, whining etc. Anything to get your attention.

Despite the negative behavior, don't reward you dog by giving it your attention. Even negative scolding attention, rewards your dog for this problem behavior. Used correctly, training your dog is the best way to solve this and other dog behavior problems

7. Separation Anxiety

Usually indicated by the four classic symptoms, lots of vocalization, excessive salivation, eliminating inside and destructive behavior directed at points of entry or exit. Separation anxiety is a complex problem too big to address in this article.
