I am a big fan of retractable leashes because they are so much easier to take care of and store. I also love that with a retractable leash I have the choice of how far I let my dog go. This leash is very strong and good quality so I know there is no way it is going to break while in use and I will always have control of my dog. My favorite part about this leash is that when I walk my dog at night this leash has a flashlight attached so I can see while walking without having to use my other had to carry a flashlight. I have even needed a flashlight around the house and since I couldn't find one I just grabbed this dog leash and used the flashlight on it. Well made, we love that the flashlight is removable! And the "auto-lock" is easy to use. This leash is well constructed and appears to be high quality materials. Its great that everything is located in one hand so your other hand is free if needed for any kind of emergency situation or even opening the door after your walk. The handle grip is large enough for a man's large hand or very bulky winter gloves. The trigger for the retractable cord can be a little sticky and wished the flashlight turn on/off mechicanism was on a separate ring from opening to insert batteries. Very handy and the light helps better than me holding a lead, flashlight, trowel. Sorry you forgot the trowel or poopy bags. Maybe soon??

Leash works great with the puppy. The size is just right - not bulky or cumbersome. The handle is very comfortable and the LED light works great. Breaking system works well and is not hard on the puppy. The 16ft length is great for the yard - long enough for the puppy to roam and explore. Like most puppies, she is not fond of the restrictions of a leash so she's always grabbing and biting on the leash. So far, the cord is holding up to her sharp teeth. Definitely recommend for small dogs or small/medium puppies. Can't comment at this time if it will work well with medium sized dogs until my puppy grows to full size.
