Pekingese Wins 2003 Crufts Dog Show

Dogs

A 3-year-old Pekingese named Danny took Best in Show at Great Britain's Crufts Dog Show, the world's largest canine event. This year, more than 21,031 top pedigree dogs competed for the Best in Show title. Danny is owned by Albert Easdon and Philip Martin, from Glasgow, Scotland.

"I have been showing at Crufts for 30 years now and I have just achieved my lifetime ambition," Easdon said. As for Danny, the little dog is retiring. Danny is a member of the Toy group.

This was the 100th show, and ran from March 6 through March 9. As in past events, the show was attended by more than 120,000 dog enthusiasts. The crowds flock to Crufts for more than the world-class dog show; pets of all types can compete with one another in agility, flyball and obedience.
