Why Your Should Make Your Own Dog Treats

29 17:13:40

Dogs need to be rewarded and we do this with dog treats. Of course you can’t overdo it. You have to know what the right balance is. It can have a bad effect on a dog if you just start giving him treats for every little thing that he does.

Because dog treats are an absolute must and they should be included in our pet’s diet, you will see them in every pet store. You are not going to find a store that doesn’t stock these treats.

The question is what is actually going into these treats. If you look at the back of the pack you may be in for a nasty surprise, but most companies will not list their ingredients at all.

A lot of dogs and puppies are flaring up with allergies because you are merely trying to give them a reward and they keep on wanting more of what is having a negative effect on them. Some people have gone as far as even making their own dog food, but this can be a strain if you are holding down a full-time job and have a house full of kids to manage as well.

Does this take time?

Something like dog treats, however is not going to be a big ordeal. Even if you have a busy schedule ahead of you every day, you will find that if you plan ahead, then you will find that making dog treats is something that the whole family can get involved in and it can be quite fun.

You get a ton of different varieties in terms of recipes. There are a lot of ingredients that you can use, which are totally safe. People have discovered how much of an improvement the treats are making on their pets. If you have this in mind, then you will enjoy it even more. Some of these treats don’t need to be put into the oven.

Other treats can be frozen and you can take them out when you need them. This means that you can make a couple of batches at once and all you have to do is get a couple out the freezer and pop it in the oven or you may have them already cooked. The other thing is that you know exactly what is going inside and this should give you a little confidence.

Making dog treats is not difficult

That’s right! You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to make a treat for your dog. After all , they are merely looking for that taste sensation to fill the gap and they are not going to be judging your culinary skills. If you are a perfectionist, then you have to try to loosen up in this area because trimming the edges like a pastry chef would is going to going to cause you frustration.

This is just a kind of 1,2,3 process. You just need to mix things like baby food with oats and milk powder and flavor it. A raw tiny piece of chicken would be plenty and would make your dog start froth at the mouth. You can even experiment with your own dog treats finding different ingredients too put in, but remember don’t get too fussed otherwise it can take over your life just by thinking of what to put in next and finding a new recipe.

Special dog treats for training

You will find dog treats for every situation. Some ingredients will help with certain things because of the vitamins and minerals found in them. If you are looking for something to keep your little doggie running around for a long time to come and want the perfect reward after a day of Frisbee at the beach then one thing I can recommend is liver.

Set your oven to 350. Use about a pound of raw liver with 2 cups of whole wheat flour, an egg and ½ a cup of water. Mince up the liver in a blender and mix it in with the other ingredients. When it forms a dough break them up and pop them in the oven for 30 minutes on a greased baking sheet.
