As the interest in owing a pet is increasing every day. The interest in pet ownership began first of all in the west, but now, after peaking in west, it has started to enter the east as well. Whether it is east or west, it does not matter, as animal lovers are found all over the world.  Even owning dogs as pets has begun to penetrate some of the more liberalized section in some Islamic countries, though it admittedly is not very popular yet.[1]

Because people love their pets, they don’t want to lose them they have become a part of the family. Many of the pets have also proved to be man's best friend, the dog.  There are certain curable, and incurable, diseases which can infect your beloved pet, but the most surprisingly dangerous thing is, that with some of these diseases not only is the pet at risk, but also the owner can be at risk as well.  One of these is Sarcoptic Mange.  Mange in dogs is one of the most prevalent dog diseases.  Dog mange can be caught by humans.  Though light years less damaging than the rabies virus, which also can infect the pet owner, mange is still an infectious parasite.  At least once every couple of years in the western United States, on hears of someone becoming infected with the plague. usually from a domesticated animal that had the plague.

No one would want to be infected with an incurable disease, nor would an owner want his pet infected.  There are different measures and vaccinations available for curing, and preventing the pets from being infected. What about humans, what should they do?  Notice your pets behavior and whether they exhibit outward signs like vomiting of a possible illness.[2]

RABIES: 

This is a disease, which effects both the brain and the spinal cord. This infection is mainly transmitted when an infected animal bites, but that is not the only way.  The saliva can also spread it from an infected animal to a human being.  Prevention of this disease is far better than trying to cure it.  There is no real cure for rabies after a certain amount of days go by.  If you wait to long the disease is one hundred percent fatal.  Always keep in mind to annually get your pet injected with rabies vaccine and don’t try to ignore it.

RING WORMS:

This is an infectious skin disease and causes severe harm to the skin of the infected person. It is transmitted by touching the infected dog, and then also by contact with feces. The person may get a fever, cough, or congestion as part of the symptoms.

SARCOPTIC MANGE MITES:

This disease can be transmitted to humans. They may observe rashes, itching, red patches, and irritation. The symptoms are mild and not so severe.

CAMPYLBACTERIOSIS:

It is an infectious disease and there may be a mild to severe infections which may lead to gastrointestinal symptoms. This is mainly transmitted due to contact with feces.

A flea which has fed itself on infected animal can be the main carrier of the plague.  When this flea bites a human being, the disease is transmitted. It is a curable disease if caught in time.  The disease can be transmitted from fleas on your pet, so a flea collar is a good idea.[3]

By taking preventive measures such as vaccines for your pet, and worm testing, most problems are easily avoided.
