A missing dog can be very disappointing to the owners and hence if your find a missing do you should handle the dog as well with care. You can find out weather the dog is a missing dog easily by identifying with the collar of the dog and the health that the dog is in. The dog that you have found might have separated from its owner and now is lost and sad.

A missing dog might even start crying for its owner and might be emotionally imbalanced therefore you should handle it with care so that the do does not turn its fear into aggression and hurt you. If you are going to take in a missing dog then there is a responsibility that you must take on yourself. If you take in the dog then you must be sure that you will be able to keep the dog in your house forever if the real owner is not found. If you are not able to accept this responsibility then you should not take in the dog at all.

After you have taken in the dog the first thing that you should try to do is clam the dog down. This can be done by making the dog feel comfortable. Give the dog food and show the dog a lot of compassion. This will help the dog be comfortable around you.Make sure that you keep the dog on a leash for a few days. This is because the dog might try to wander away again trying to find its real master. Therefore you should make sure that you keep the dog in your watch for a few days. Also you should adjust to the habits of the dog for the few days that it is with you. Do not be harsh to the dog as it might end up harming you.

In the meantime you can first check up posters or advertisements for a missing dog. If you do not find any advertisement then you should issue your own advertisement about the dog that you found. You should take the necessary care for the dog till someone responds to the advertisements and calls you. You should make sure that neither you nor the dog get too attached to each other as it will be hard then to say good bye to each other. This is occasionally the case in many situations of lost dog found.
