How To Brainstorm Product Ideas In Less Than 24 Hours

One of the biggest myths I hear in most Internet marketing circles is that a great home business idea is usually developed around something you are passionate about. While this seems to be popular advice, it can actually cause niche blindness. This can be a bad habit to develop because it could cost you thousands of dollars in profits. However, there is an easy way around this.

To help you put all of this into perspective, let me start with an example from my own experiences. I am a football and hockey freak, but when I first started to research Internet marketing, I quickly realized it would be quite difficult to develop an online business based solely around these two passions.

Luckily a world of possibility opened up for me when my marketing coach explained that I didn't necessarily have to love a niche, to profit from it.

There are literally thousands of niches out there you can start a business around, but the most successful ones will always help solve a problem. One of the most important pieces of advice you will ever read about online marketing is this - PEOPLE BUY SOLUTIONS! If you can help people find a solution to their problems, you will have a solid foundation for a profitable business.

To help brainstorm product ideas, try to think of common problems people are faced with, and how you can help offer them a solution. Here is a simple exercise you can do. Read over the examples below, and then think of a solution for the problems facing these people:

- An awkward, shy man who has trouble talking to the opposite sex is looking for a solution that will help him meet more women

- A family looking for help with student loans

- A cat owner who has a cat that urinates everywhere is looking for a solution to stop this behavior

Do you see how in each of these examples, someone is searching for a solution? Thousands of extremely profitable products are created to help solve people's problems. By simply using examples like I showed you in the exercise above, you can easily train yourself to recognize problems, and then create solutions. The next step is to act on one of your great new ideas!
