Each Day In The Life Of A Cat Owner

One day in the life of a cat owner.

Today there is snow on the ground and of course the cats wanted out. I figured it was no big deal, I could grab the paper while I waited. No newspaper within the paper box, only one cat comes back, and my toes are freezing. A cup of hot coffee will be heaven. So just as soon as I sit down and my toes begin warming up and my coffee begins cooling down, princess #2 starts at the door. Truly?

So instantly after my hot shower I'm buying a window mounted cat door for my Persian princess. She is one of the two cats in our house and is a rescue with an unknown and it appears a shady past. The small lady was listed as cat-friendly and child-friendly and it seemed that way initially, but we realized as time passes that she is only cat-tolerant to a point. Stubborn as a mule. she wouldn't be litter trained. It took 3 years, an untold quantity of various litters, litter-boxes, cajoling, bribery and numerous trips to vets and behaviorists prior to we figured her out. Really, it was a lady from work who figured her out, not us. Our prissy rescue needed her own space with her own box, one that could not be accessed by the other cat.

We got her an enormous, three level cat condo and a brand new box and also the issue was instantly resolved. Although the huge three level cat condo clashes with my décor, some sacrifices I willingly make. Whilst looking for options to her litter box problems I found these magnetic cat doors and just now remembered it was in my list of issues to complete. I'd prefer to install one of these doors so she can come and go as she pleases, and almost as importantly she can come and go as I please.. I can only hope to help keep my sanity till it comes in but for now, just thinking about it gives me a warm feeling inside. Well…maybe that is the coffee. And now, as I sit down to relax during the mid-morning lull I hear what can only be described as a poor sound….a really bad sound….it sounds like a soft rustling type of scratching. What can you possibly scratch that makes a soft sound like that.

Oh No! It turns out that a soft luxury leather just just like the luxury leather they use on costly sofas can make that soft scratching sound. And who could possibly be the culprit you might ask? Of course you are correct, and it is not truly stereotyping when you’re talking about Princess #2, she brings it upon herself. So I appears like this afternoon I will be doing some study on cat scratching posts also. I can’t wait for dinnertime.
