Dr. Richards, in his lifetime, has written, edited, and spoken of feline care a lot that so many people expressed their sentiments about his sudden passing away. You may read some of these in his memorials from Cornell Feline Health Center. His works was most probably inspired by his genuine love and respect of the feline kind. Dr. James R.
