As such a puppy that is grown in a litter of kittens does not mind cats and a kitten that is grown along with the pups does not mind dogs. In fact cats and dogs can form solid friendships if they are grown together. This is because the first few months of the kitten and the pup are formative years of their lives. As such if they grow up in each others company then they will certainly not mind each other much less chase after each other.

Also if you pet the dog and give it enough attention in the company of the cat then the dog would think that having the cat around is a good idea as it gives it more attention.
