Indoor Flytraps For Agricultural And Animal Businesses

27 18:22:10
Though indoor flytraps are used heavily for businesses such as grocery stores, restaurants and convenience stores, many agricultural businesses use them also. While the agricultural business may already have outdoor measures they can benefit from indoor flytraps.

So what are some examples of agricultural businesses that can benefit? Any agricultural business that has either outside areas that create a habitat for flies, or businesses that have indoor pets attract flies. Some examples of businesses that need fly control include, but are not limited to, those listed below.

Businesses with outdoor habitats for flies:

Horse Stables Manure piles, old moldy hay and muddy areas around barns and corrals are a great place for flies to thrive. Daily cleaning of horse stalls helps prevent the reproduction of flies.

Large Animal Veterinary Clinics Veterinary clinics are similar to horse stables. The same conditions provide a habitat for flies. In addition, veterinary clinics must have a clean environment without flies and other pests that could cause or spread infections and disease.

Dairy Farm Offices The milk industry has many requirements to ensure safe milk is produced and shipped to companies for bottling and sale. Hay, different types of feeds, manure piles and muddy areas provide a habitat for flies. Fly control is needed to prevent milk from being spoiled and ruined. Offices need to keep a clean, pest free appearance for visitors.

Chicken farms Large numbers of chickens in chicken coops provide a great place for flies to inhabit. Manure piles, wet or rotten feed and muddy areas provide a habitat for flies.

Animal feeding facilities Large numbers of animals, lots of different types of feed, muddy areas and lagoons attract flies and provide a huge environment for fly reproduction.

Businesses with indoor pets:

Small Animal Veterinary Clinics Similar to those for large animals, clinics need to be clean and pest free. Flies can cause or spread infections and disease.

Dog and Cat boarding Boarding facilities have many animals that create conditions that attract flies. Constant opening of doors allow ease of entry to the facilities. When cages and pens are cleaned, the cat litter and dog manure are carried outdoors to an assembly point which provides a great place for flies.

Pet shops Similar to boarding locations, many different types of small animals creates a need to clean cages and pens. The litter and manure is then disposed usually in a dumpster that attracts flies. Open door entrances then allow flies into the store.

Pet food and supply stores Dog and cat food is very attractive to flies. A key place for flies to enter the building is at the entrance where supplies are received and brought into the store. Many times, a dumpster holding garbage is nearby. Flies enter the store causing a need for fly control.

Keep in mind that both outdoor and indoor fly control methods are reactive measures taken to eliminate existing flies. Most businesses that have flies also have an existing condition that attracts flies and provides a habitat for them to multiply and survive. Businesses need to review their sanitation programs to eliminate areas for flies to thrive. Prevention of flies reduces the need for fly killers, baits etc.

Any type of agricultural or animal related business can benefit from a complete fly control program. Outdoor prevention of fly habitats and fly killing measures along with an indoor method to rid flies helps round out a total program to get rid of flies.
