Obedience Training Tips For Dogs

Everyone loves to have a pet like a dog in their home. But none of us would like a rude dog. It is very important to give some basic obedience training to dogs so that they behave themselves as they grow up. The following points tell you how you can bring your dog under your control.

The first thing you should do is to make sure that he knows you are the leader of the family. Also make him understand that he is below every other human in the house. For this you can allow him to have his meals after everyone finishes. This will make a clear statement that you are the boss.

It is also good to show some domination on him every once in a while. This again confirms to him that you are the leader and he should obey you. You need not be very strict all the times as that could have an adverse effect.

Please don't beat the dog for obedience issues. This can make the dog obey you for a short period but it can turn violent towards you or any other family members in the long term. Be careful in treating dogs especially if your home has a small baby (Dogs naturally love young members of the family though).

Teach your dog new things. This will keep him enthusiastic and fit. When training constantly praise to make him feel special. If he knows that you are giving attention to him he will love it and show his love towards you. There are a few commands that a dog can easily understand. Sit, Down, Stay, Come and Stand are some of those commands. You can start training your dog with these basic orders.

Spend quality time with your dog. Dogs are very sociable and they need company and if you take him for long walks and spend quality time playing with him then you have a higher chance of bonding and having an obedient canine.

Training a dog can make you its master. But it is important that you make him your best friend. This process can be difficult at times and requires patience and lots of love from your side. A disobedient dog can never be a happy dog and as its master you won't be happy either. So be patient in growing your dog as an obedient pet and make him love his family.
