Should You Buy A Horse?

2016/5/4 10:10:58

Humans have long been in contact with horses. They have found the horse to be a very good source of help, most especially for transportation. The animal has been working with humans since the ancient times.

Horses are one of the most popular animals to take care of. But not everyone can afford to buy them. They are a bit pricy and the maintenance it takes to handle the animal is no joke.

Buying a horse is not the same as buying a Persian cat or a German shepherd dog. Because of their size, you will need to secure a special place where the animal can live. That big of an animal would also mean that its daily food intake will be much greater than the average cat or dog.

Horses are incredibly smart and fun animals. You can truly appreciate the way they run across the field and the way they just carry themselves. A certain aristocracy can be observed just by their stance. The horse's hair is also very admirable. The long, smooth hair that moves when the horse is running is truly stunning.

One interesting trivia that we can learn from horses is that they have the capacity to sleep while standing. Horses are known to live a full life of up to 30 years.

Horses have been used long before, as a way for transportation. Riding a horse can get you to different places. Horses have also been used to drag a chariot (in the ancient times) and a wheeled vehicle called a carriage centuries ago. But even to this day, a carriage that is powered by a horse can still be ridden. They are not as plenty as they used to be because of the development of cars but they still remain to be seen.

The cost to purchase a horse is very expensive. But the cost that you will shoulder to maintain the horse is actually higher. It is actually no surprise that you will have to shell out thousands and thousands of dollars in a year just to take care of this animal.

Millionaires and aristocratic families have long been known to own horses that they use for equestrianism, the art of horse-riding. They take care of horses because they have the means to do so.

Should you buy horse? If you can shoulder all the necessary costs and you really want to, I would say, go for it. If you cannot, then you can choose to buy an animal that is much more affordable to take care of.
