Panda: An Endangered Species of Animals

2016/5/4 10:10:33

The panda is one species that is in the bear family. However, you will notice that it differs from many of the other bears in the family because it is not a carnivore for the most part. For the most part, the panda's diet consists of bamboo. There are many other things that pandas eat while they are in the wild. For example, not only do they eat bamboo leaves, but they also eat yams, small animals, and other kinds of leaves that grow in the area. Pandas eat differently when they are in captivity because they are provided with different foods such as fruit and honey. You will be able to easily tell a panda from the rest of the bears that fall into this family because of the patches of black that they have around their eyes and ears.

Pandas can be found in the mountain ranges in China. Besides the dragon, the panda is used as a symbol of this country. For example, the panda was used as a symbol in the Beijing Olympics. The panda used to be found in many areas of China, however, since there have been buildings placed in many of the areas that the pandas lived in, they have moved to the mountains.

There are not many pandas that are still alive today. This is why pandas are considered to be endangered species. There are only 27 pandas that are in captivity outside of China and 239 that are in captivity within the country. In jungles and the wild, there are 1590 of these animals. These numbers should be well over 2000.

When it comes to how they act in the wild, pandas prefer to survive alone, and travel around as they hunt for food. They are able to climb trees, and use them as a place to rest. Though they have strong teeth, these creatures are extremely docile, and there are only a few cases of pandas attacking humans.

When it is time to reproduce, the male panda will mate with a female pandas that they find in the area. Once mating has occurred, the male pandas will leave the female to care for the cubs. When cubs are first born, they weigh 7 grams at the most and are about 7 inches in length. As adults, the male panda is larger than the female. The male typically weighs about 280 pounds while the female will weigh about 170 pounds.

Panda is an animal native to China. It has become a symbol of China due to its popularity. It is an animal belonging to bear family. But it is mainly herbivorous.
