Dolphins are considered to be mammals. They live in water and survive on a carnivorous diet. There are about 40 different species of dolphin that are alive in the world today. Of course, they can vary greatly in size. The largest dolphins can grow up to 30 feet in length and weigh as much as 10 tons. However, the smallest dolphins are only 4 feet long and weigh40 kilograms. Dolphins can be found in the shallow parts of seas and oceans around the world.

Dolphins have been documented as one of the most intelligent animals that are alive today. You will find that there are many people who are interested in dolphins. This is because not only are they interesting to watch, but the amount of different things that they can understand is simply amazing. There have been skeletons of dolphins that have been found around the world that prove that these animals were alive around 50 million years ago.

Dolphins are shaped much like fish and other creatures that spend all of their time in the water. They have fins, and their body is in a shape that allows them to move easily throughout the water. The tail of the dolphin is used for both power and direction while the dolphin is swimming. The dorsal fin is used to keep the mammal stable while it is moving through the water.

There are many different colors that dolphins come in. However, most of the species of this mammal are grayish in color, and the colors of their bellies are a lighter shade than that of their backs.

Dolphins have brains that are extremely complex, and this is how they have become so intelligent. These creatures can have up to 250 teeth, and they perform respiration through the hole that is located on the top of their head. Of course, since they are mammals, they need to breathe oxygen, which is different than fish. These kinds of mammals have the ability to heal quickly if they should become wounded, which is amazing. However, they do have a tendency to develop diabetes. Therefore, dolphins are carefully being researched to see if they will be helpful in finding a cure for diabetes in humans.

When it comes to dolphins, they have extremely good senses of hearing and sight. They use echolocation in order to find food when they are swimming in the ocean. With their sense of sight, they are able to see far distances.

Dolphins are mammals though they live in water. They are interesting animals that have good eyesight and hearing capabilities. They are close to human culture too.
