There are so many legitimate reasons to purchase a pet gate for your dog, cat, teacup pig, rabbit or other exotic animal. Pet gates allow you to confine your pet to one specific area. They allow you to decide which room you want to keep your pet in. They help when you have company and don't want your dog jumping all over your family or friends.

I think the best thing is the ability to move them around to different areas in the home. It just makes training and care of your pet so much easier. Much better than if your pet had freedom to roam everywhere and get into trouble.
