Review Of The PetZip Pet Happy Trailer

2016/5/4 10:06:42

The PetZip Group was incorporated in 2006 in Brea, CA. They manufacture furniture, strollers, blankets and electronic devices for pets. They are well-known for the award-winning 1st Class Pet Jogger Stroller.

The Pet Happy Trailer is their most versatile stroller. It can be used as a pet bike trailer or a stroller because the bike attachment is included. This adaptability is one reason the Happy Trailer is a good value. The Happy Trailer requires minimal assembly. All three wheels just snap into place. I found that the back wheels go on more easily if you squeeze the clip and then release it when the wheel is all the way onto the rod. The handle bar was a tight fit, I had to wiggle each side down until the pins popped out of each hole. Each side of the cabin just needs to be locked open and your stroller is ready to go. The fabric is of good quality, I chose the blue color. It is a light blue, gray and black and the colors are attractive. The sun roof rolls back and can be secured. Your pet can enter either the front zippered door, or the larger back door. My two dogs like to ride with the front door open, tethered in of course. The only problem with that plan is that there isn't any way to secure the front door open. I just pulled it upward and placed my jacket on top of it.

The maximum weight requirement for the stroller is 75 pounds. My two dogs together weigh 50 pounds and the stroller would clearly support more weight. There is plenty of room in the cabin for two and even three smaller dogs. It is a smooth ride, the air-filled tires make a difference. The front wheel does not shake when walking briskly. I was concerned this might be a problem because the wheel swivels and cannot be locked into place.

I jogged with the stroller and found that the front of the stroller "jumps" a little, possibly because the weight of the dogs was in the rear of the stroller, rather than up front. I think if you have a heavier dog in the trailer, and the tires are fully inflated, then jogging would work out well. The handle is about 38 inches from the ground, which is a very comfortable height. I am 5 feet 10 inches and, even jogging, my feet did not hit the stroller at all.

The stroller folds quickly and easily and will fit into most car trunks. It's not a compact stroller, but if you pop off the wheels it'll definitely fit into the trunk of a car smaller than a sedan. To use the Happy Trailer with your bike, you first need to use a wrench to secure the towing arm to the rear axle of your bike. The other end is secured in place of the front wheel of the trailer. The Happy Trailer comes with a bike flag and a rain cover. Many other pet bike trailers require a separate purchase of the stroller kit. The PetZip Happy Trailer really stands out as being a good product for a fair price.
