Many 'experts' that work at animal shelters will tell you that buying Chihuahua puppies for sale is somehow bad or wrong, because they know Chihuahuas that are waiting to be adopted at the shelter. They know that if those puppies aren't adopted, they will eventually -- by necessity -- be put down. That is a shame, and it's saddening to think about. But there are some pretty solid reasons why Chihuahua puppies for sale are generally better for you and your family than the adults at the shelter.

The most important reason is that Chihuahuas are fiercely loyal and protective of their owner -- but an adult Chihuahua from a shelter could take years before it thinks of you as its owner. When you go seeking Chihuahua puppies for sale, you know from day one that they will see you as their owner and the leader of their pack -- which makes them not only more loyal, but more affectionate.

Of course, it can be difficult to find Chihuahua puppies for sale. You can seek a seller in the paper or by calling the Kennel Club, but they tend to be respectively irresponsible or quite expensive. You can look around online, but you have the fear of puppy mills and other fraud -- but fortunately, there is an exception.

There are a variety of websites out there that don't list their own Chihuahua puppies for sale, but rather they gather listings of various accredited breeders. If you find one of those websites, they do you the service of collecting listings for you but also allow you to contact the breeder, go see the puppies before you purchase them, and so on. That way, you can satisfy yourself that the pup is healthy, happy, and ready to be your favourite lap dog.

Of course, there are other reasons why an adopted puppy can be a gamble as well. You have no idea why that puppy is in the shelter -- it could be that the previous owners abused it and made it antisocial, for example. When you go and find Chihuahua puppies for sale, you know what you're getting into, because you have the chance to shape the puppy to match your family, and it's that really what getting a puppy is all about?
