When pet owners feed their dog’s natural treats, it is because they know that it will help their dogs to look better, feel better and have more energy too. Many times dog owners will go the extra mile to ensure that their pet has the highest quality of food at mealtime, making certain that it is full of vitamins and minerals but then unknowingly they don’t take the same measures when it comes to their pets treats.

Natural dog treats are full of the highest quality proteins, vegetables, multi grains, and even fresh fruits. These blends are especially great for dogs that are older, overweight, or both. What makes them even better is that the taste is never compromised.

There are so many purposes for giving your dog treats that are rich in oats, rice, flax seed, eggs, vegetables, and yes, even peanut butter! Many of these ingredients are very healthy for your dog and support healthy bones and teeth. Parsley is even added because it will help to freshen your pet’s breath, which is always a plus for the owner. Natural dog treats are likely to even include such ingredients as cranberries to help ensure a healthy urinary tract.

Dogs of all ages and sizes love to chew. Now you can either provide them with something to chew on or they will find something themselves. I think that we all agree it is best to purchase some good chews. Natural chews are available that will actually aid in your dogs dental health, both in the gums as well as the teeth. It is just smart to offer these to your dog and in the long run you will likely find that it did benefit them as part of routine maintenance.

With little effort and expense, I have found that the best natural treats for your dog are homemade. This way you can add your own ingredients and sort of customize your treats making them soft or chewy. It is far cheaper to make your own treats for your pet and it’s also fun to experiment with different household items when doing so. Whatever specific needs that your dog has you will be able to make the treats based on those needs.

There is a variety of specific ingredients that can be added to your homemade dog treats including meat, gravy, tuna with the oil, even baby food meats will work fine but don’t forget to add some of those leftovers including carrots, rice, milk, cottage cheese, or meat broths. Finally, don’t forget to add some fresh parsley to freshen your canine’s breath too!
