Elementary Cat Care- Treats To Avoid Feeding Your Feline

2016/5/3 16:52:56

Our furry pals have a digestion system thats shaped to digest high protein foods. They have effective gastric juices that can help them to break down meat and pull as much nutrients as possible for their bodies They are carnivores, which means they are built to eat meat. But not every meat out there is good for your cat or kitten. Particularly any meat foods that are processed for human consumption. These must be avoided if you want to keep your cat healthy and happy. This is an potent step in usual cat care. If you don’t support these tips, you may end up paying for your cats health by excessive vet visits or even their life.

Milk: We all see many people giving their cats milk on TV shows and in the movies. But this is false. Feeding your cat too much milk could result in the milk crystallizing in their kidneys. Which could be very unhealthy for them or even lethal. So don’t do it.

Tuna: What I mean here is tuna thats made for us. Canned tuna thats resolved for kitty consumption is OK. Our human made tuna could contain mercury that may be unhealthy for your feline friend. So, avoid this if you can. Sure, its OK every once and a while to give them a little bit of tuna that we eat, but don’t make it a routine. I have a magnificent Russian Blue cat and we give him only approved pet foods that the manufacturers create for them. I do not want to harm him in any way.

Vegetables. Many vegetables out there could be unhealthy to your cat such as green foods, onions, garlic, any food that can be made into a spice would be possibly unsafe to your cat. Many foods contain chemicals called sulfoxides and disulfides, this could reduce the transfer of oxygen to the red blood cells in their body.

Alcohol: Don’t even think about this one. This could cause alot of damage to their whole system. Like it does to us over time.

Any type of chocolate: Do not feed your cat any form of chocolate because they cannot break down the compounds in it. They do not carry the enzymes to do this.

Foods high in Ash: Because meat that is prepared for cat food is cooked at a high temperature, it leaves a residue of ash. Within the ash, there is calcium, magnesium, calcium, potassium and other trace minerals. Therefore; food with a higher proportion of meat content will contain more ash. However, better quality meat will produce less ash. Cats require a certain amount of ash in their diets so it cannot be eliminated completely. If there is a high concentration of ash in their food, It could lead to a Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease, or FLUTD. The ash will build up and cause crystallines in their urinary tract, therefore blocking it. Its best to buy foods with an ash content of 2.5 or lower.

I hope I have shed some light on how and what to feed your pet. Keeping them healthy and happy with make you happy knowing you are looking out for their well being and health. Precise cat care is essential for a long and healthy life. Enjoy their company, keep them entertained. You will not regret it.
