When we think of therapy dogs, for most of us pitbulls don’t come to mind. This is because most people have fear of this dogs. We only hear horrible stories of attacts related to this breed. In American history there have been alot of pitbull service dogs. In 1993 a pitbull named Weela saved 30 people, 29 dogs, 13 horses and a cat during a flood in California. Another case is that a pitbull saved a four year old child from drowning in a pool in Florida. There is so many cases of this dogs as heroes. Pitbulls are on of the most stable people friendly breeds out there. Every dog can be a therapy dog as long as they get as much excercise as they require. These dogs have been portrayed in a wrong way through media making a pitbulls as a criminal’s best friend. Many people are making this change and out there, many pit bulls are certified as therapy dogs. They have helped people to recover from and emotional accident and many are used in search and rescue programs where they showed as axcellent service as therapy dogs. Not every person can be a good owner and not every dog can be a good therapy dog. The fact is that there are pitbull therapy dogs, and people should give them a chance.
