Obstacle Races

2016/5/3 15:10:23

The runner awakes, and, for a moment, looks on the day’s coming events with excitement and just a little dread. The runner must outrun and outwit the Grim Reaper. This day has been a long time coming, and the runner can’t wait to get started. Whatever happens, this day is going to be one to remember for a lifetime. What, you wonder, is about to happen?

The Obstacle Apocalypse Race is the best new idea to combine fun, fitness, charity, and a party in one event. Runners prepare to tackle fourteen military style obstacles and make split second decisions as they run the 5K+ course. Participants will need to make instantaneous decisions about route alternatives as they race to the finish. This interactive adventure combines speed and strength while testing wit and ingenuity as runners, either individually or on teams, race to survive apocalyptical race.

The Obstacle Course Race will include walls, cargo nets, and rope swings to navigate. Think Military, Ninja Warrior, Wipe Out, and boot camp in one event. Most runners complete the race in ? to 1 hour’s time. Organizers provide onsite water stations and medical personal for the runners’ safety.

The Obstacle Race provides a safe and exciting way to generate money for your favorite charity as people sponsor the racers, with the strongest and fastest donating larger amounts to the cause. This is also a super prospect for team building either for a group of friends or a company. Not everyone likely to race? No problem. There are volunteer opportunities for non-runners who can still enjoy the fun of the race and the after race festivities.

Additionally, Apocalypse Race is an interesting way to meet new friends and connect with people who really know how to have a good time while being active.

Interested parties need to pre-pay and register and before the race day; they can pick up their race packet on the day of the race. Packets include bib number and timing chip near the starting line. Runners will be required to sign a waiver to participate.

Obstacle Apocalypse Races are taking place across the country in 2012. The first race is on June 9, 2012 in New Winsor, New York. Other Obstacle Course Races are planned for New England, the Mid-Atlantic, and the Mid-West with date yet to be determined.
