A Pug is among the cutest small dog breed there is. These petite furry love bugs are often misunderstood.

Typically, when someone thinks of a Pug, two things come to mind. The first is snoring because this petite dog breed tends to snore even while they are awake. The other common thought about a Pug is their energetic personalities.

This dog breed is easily excitable and love to be around people. These are considered to be the dog breed for people. The Pug is often compared to a toddler, as they are clever and always need to have supervision or they will get into trouble. Pugs enjoy sniffing out trouble and often find themselves in the center of trouble because of their curiosity.

How do you know a Pug is happy? This small dog breed seems to be happiest when they are in the presence of their owner. It is considered normal behavior for a Pug to follow its owner from one room to the next in an attempt to be the center of attention. In their mind, it as though there is nothing else in the world but the Pug and its owner.

The Pug is a small dog breed that is very well known for their pushed in face. Because the Pug has a short snout it is prone to a few health conditions with breathing. Most dogs use their tongue to cool their body temperature down when they become too hot. This is not easily done for a Pug. This dog breed has what is called a compact breathing passageway, which keeps the dog from being able to successfully cool itself down when they are in extreme temperatures.

The Pug dog breed are great family dogs, but will require supervision and training if they are going to be around young children. This dog breed also are susceptible to eye problems because they are short and the eyes bulge out from the face, which makes them an easy target for debris, children poking and overall injury due to the elements surrounding them.

This dog breed is also quite popular in television shows and on the big screen. Maybe this brief list will help to jog your memory. Milo and Otis featured an adorable tan and black pug, so did Men In Black, Pocahontas, 102 Dalmatians and MIB II, to name a few. This goes to show how intelligent this small dog breed really is.

They are highly trainable, cuddle bugs that aim to please. Grooming a Pug does not have to be very often. Generally a bath twice a year is enough. However, they do require extra care around their eyes and nose to ensure they are clean. You should check your Pug everyday for debris around the eyes and nose. Normally, a warm wet cotton ball can clean up any little dirt that can be found.
