Exotic Pet Birds - Consider again before you get them as pets.

Raising of pet birds isn't a sideline any more, it has grown into an industry worth million dollars. One of the most preferable birds for business are the foreign birds. Among the many breeds of exotic birds, the Macaw, African grey parrots, Finches, Caiques are preferred by bird lovers from all over the world.

The exotic birds are bred every year and shipped to the other nations for merchandising. But unfortunately, when the birds are being shipped they have to endure through a grueling shipping process and their survival becomes trembling and uncertain. Birds want to be independent but with human selfish needs, their freedom are being stamped.

The life expectancy of the foreign birds is not high except a few and they don't even survive more than five years. For example, birds like budgies, canaries and lovebirds don't even live for one year or they suffer a lot during shipping. Due to tiring shipping conditions, most of the birds die and only few of them are able to get comfortable homes.

Who are to be blamed for this? May be the party or sometimes the consumers are to be blamed because they are not ready with the instinctive personalities of the birds, which involves biting, screaming, and even chewing furniture. The dealers and the consumers consider only the wildness and vicious nature of the foreign birds and thus they treat these creatures with negligence.

There are few horrified stories about beating of these poor birds, imprisoning them in the dark basements for years and even sometimes hungering them to death (as someone just "forget to feed them") - are shocking and terrible. The exotic birds suffer from broken bones and internal injuries due to these ill treatments while they are being embarked and before reaching the owners they are at the doorsteps of death.

When the foreign birds are being transported to the owner or in any zoos, even there these poor vertebrates have to suffer twinges of ill treatments. In homes any ill-treatment on dogs and cats are often reported by the neighbors to the pet animal sections. Unlike other pets, the harshness against the exotic birds happens within the internal household areas and it remains far from any human eyes.

These exotic birds are close to natural circumstances and when they feel missing of that they grew irritated and behave wildly. Always remember that exotic birds never like to be caged in a tiny cage and if they are kept in such places they suffer from psychological problems and even diseases like obsessive compulsive disorders. There can be other problems like insanity, severe screaming and inhibition, when these birds are being kept in improper cages.

Exotic birds are great companions and are lot of fun to be with when they are kept as pets. If you want exotic birds as a pet then you need to understand their natural instincts of being messy and too much noisy. These exotic creatures demands nothing more than warmness and compassion from human beings and from both dealers and consumers as well.
