There are various external parasites that can affect your dog's health and comfort. Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, sand flies and stable flies are all capable of feeding on pets. Fleas can infest your home as well as the animal. K9 Advantix is capable of protecting your pet from these pests and all the health problems associated with them.

K9 Advantix is a topical medication that is applied directly on your dog's skin. The liquid soaks into the skin to provide a long-lasting treatment. It is easy to purchase the correct dose for a dog, since this product is packaged based on the dose needed for specified weight ranges.

Once a pet has been treated with K9 Advantix, parasites that attempt to feed on your dog will soon begin to die. Unlike most other treatments, this medication also helps repel external parasites to reduce the chance of your dog being bitten. This can save your pet the discomfort of being bitten by mosquitoes, sand flies, stable flies and some ticks.

Your dog should be treated once or twice every month to provide full protection. This medication will eliminate fleas for one month, eliminate and repel ticks for three to four weeks, repel mosquitoes and sand flies for two to four weeks and repel stable flies for one month. This means that you will want to determine how often to treat your pet based on how much protection is required. If you are focused on eliminating ticks and fleas, treating once a month is usually sufficient, but if you want to fully repel all of these parasites, it may be best to treat twice every month.

It is easy to apply K9 Advantix. Each dose is individually packaged in a small pipette. Once the pipette has been removed from the package, you must hold it in an upright position away from the body while twisting and pulling the cap off. The cap should then be turned and placed back on the pipette and twisted to break the seal. All of the liquid medication should be distributed evenly in four spots along the dog's back. The first part of the medication should be placed between the animal's shoulder blades, and the last should be near the base of the tail. The other two should be evenly spaced between these two positions. It is important that you ensure all the medication is placed on the skin, since liquid left on the hair may run off before being soaked into the skin. Never use this medication on cats, as it is toxic to them.

K9 Advantix is an excellent medication for those who would like to eliminate and prevent parasite-related problems. External parasites can cause dogs discomfort as well as transmit diseases and cause allergic reactions. Treating your pet can prevent these pests from becoming a nuisance.
