I don’t own a cat but I love watching them on youtube videos. The latest one I found was about cats stealing the dog beds that their fellow house mates have. Who knew cats could be envious? When you think about, a cat bed is very small compared to a typical dog bed. Size matters.

I haven’t laughed so hard as I did at the antics of these mostly very large dogs trying to get the very contended, napping cat off their dog bed! One dog even brought the cat a blanket as a bribe! A dachshund is shown barking long and loud at the cat curled up snuggly in his bed and totally not waking up or pretending to sleep and just not care. There are a couple of videos showing large dogs now sleeping in the much smaller cat bed with their legs obviously extending over the sides of a way too small pet bed, while next to them is the cat stretched out on the dogs’s former very plush looking dog bed. A few showed some spunk and tugged at the bed until the cat finally hopped out. Usually it seemed like the smaller dogs were more likely to not give in so easily. Some videos show the cat pawing back at the dog to make them back away and the dog does! You see how much these dogs love and miss their bed...see everyone loves a good doggy bed! A few more persistent dogs finally win their bed back but a few good natured cats and dogs finally learned to share the bed! Those made for the cutest visuals...cats and dogs curled up together.

You know a cat can just use a window sil but yet they want that bed. The beds that those cats were snuggling in could have been self-warming pet beds. Self-warming beds work with your pet’s body heat without the need of electricity. Some of those cats might also have been dozing on a thick, orthopedic memory form doggy bed! How could a self respecting feline resist such a pet bed! So this is a shout out to cat owners, before you buy another “cat bed,” and the cat already HAS to share the house with a dog...the least you can do is just go ahead and buy a big, roomy. plush doggy bed that also has thick bolster sides for your cat. Better yet, get TWO matching ones and see what happens. They will each have their very own bed and your poor dog can finally get some real napping done again.

So help your dog get his bed back!
