Degenerative Myelopathy

& How I Saved My Dogs Life

By: Dr. Kim McNeil dvm - Story about "Huckleberry" - Patty Povles Beloved Dog

Since posting an article in April - which documented our dogs successful fight against Degenerative Myelopathy. I've received a ton of emails from people around the world wanting to know how our family successfully treated Degenerative Myelopathy in our dog.. Some of these emails even go as far as asking us for the secret to treating DM. Well, I'm writing this to let the world know our "little secret" is really not such a secret after-all...

As the article gained interest - my inbox also grew...Everyone seemed desperate: wanting and searching for that so-called "secret" and how we were able cure our dog. I decided to help and being a 4th grade math teacher, maybe educate everyone on how we went about treating our dog during this difficult time. Since our dogs treatment and our experience with the disease - along with our successful outcome I hope that your dog will be able to fight this disease as well!

I wish to apologize upfront for my writing abilities...I did say I teach Math. Anyway, hear is a little background information about our family dog - a five year old Boxer (Huckleberry), who was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy on November 23, 2010.

As I was looking at different treatment options online which I found very few, I just happened to come across an article written by a canine researcher (forget her name), but she was featuring a new treatment option which was recently approved and released for use within the United States. The treatment program designed for canine degenerative myelopathy is called Sanus-Biotex and yes, this is our "secret" that everyone wishes to know. Now, Sanus-Biotex is not really a secret...I just happened to stumble upon it looking for some info. However, with that being said, it absolutely was the answer to our prayers. I also want to let you know that I'm in no way affiliated with the Sanus-Biotex: Degenerative Myelopathy treatment program or Pet Harmonics Co...But rather, I'm just a regular person who teaches 4th grade math in Southern California and is a 110% satisfied user of Sanus-Biotex...

"I have no other way to say this about Sanus-Biotex and the many people who have researched Degenerative Myelopathy and brought this amazing treatment to our market...There is No Doubt in My Mind - Our Dog Would Not Be Here Today Without Your Hard Work and Dedication in Ending DM...The Sanus-Biotex Treatment Program Is the ONLY Reason Our Dog is With Us Today!!!"

NOTE: (For those who need a little background on Degenerative Myelopathy - the first two paragraphs below will help)...

Degenerative Myelopathy: The Stages of DM

In the early stages of degenerative myelopathy most people usually see the dogs hindquarters showing signs of weakness. Most misdiagnosis the disease as hip displasia or arthritis at this point, mainly because the symptoms are very similar in these early stages. However, this is a big mistake as DM is an insidious disease that is all to often overlooked in its earliest stages, unless you know exactly what your looking at.

It's always a good idea, every month, to check the rear nails on your dog for uneven wear, especially on the inner portion of the dogs paw. This is usually one of the first visible signs that a dog presents when degenerative myelopathy initially starts taking hold. Using this method, I became aware that our dog may be suffering from the initial stages of degenerative myelopathy.

Its so important for your dogs health that you address the disease as soon as possible and not wait for the symptoms to become progressively worse. One other clue which may help you identify the early stages of degenerative myelopathy is to look for the increased difficulty your dog has standing up, trouble balancing as he/she is standing and also increased response time when the dog gains its balance again.

As degenerative myelopathy progresses to later stages, it will become increasingly difficult for your dog to do normal things. At this point with the disease, it is vital that you start addressing these issues and not "hope" things will go away. Because, when dealing with a progressive disease as deadly as Degenerative Myelopathy...It Won't and Will Only Get Worse!

There isn't much you can do to help your dog in the advanced stages of the disease. However, this does not mean that all is lost. As research continues, from some of the best veterinarians and researches in the world. The fight against Degenerative Myelopathy is starting to look up and I cannot stress enough how Important it is to "Take Action Now" if your dog has been diagnosed with DM. The progression of the disease in your dog can not only be slowed...But in a large number of documented cases the damage caused by the disease is actually reversed!

Degenerative Myelopathy Treatment & Stopping the Progression of DM

One of the best known products out their is a product which was originally developed for race horses in Australia and is called Sanus-Biotex. Recently introduced to the US and distributed within the United States by Pet Harmonics Co. This new proprietary formula, has been earning the respect (from me) and of veterinarians across the country.

The formula is designed to increase or build up a protective layer around the nerve endings (myelin) which surrounds the spinal column. This makes it much more difficult for the progressive nature of Degenerative Myelopathy to take hold and progress up the spine to the dogs brain. Sanus-Biotex, has been proven to not only slow but also has completely stopped the disease from developing more. My family could actually watch as our dogs health and happiness seemed to get better each and every day.

Read about other successful users of Sanus-Biotex and what it has done for their dogs on Pet Harmonics website (see link below).

My hope in writing about sharing our experience with you is: If your dog is suffering the painful effects of Degenerative Myelopathy - I truly hope you take my recommendation and give Sanus-Biotex a try. There is absolutely No Risk as you are guaranteed your money back if using Sanus-Biotex is showing no signs of improving your dogs way of life. It's very important to act now, when your confronted with the reality of this insidious disease. As you already know, I've personally used Sanus-Biotex on our family dog and as I mentioned earlier it - "Saved Our Dogs Life!" Sanus-Biotex has also saved thousands of other dogs! You can read many of the "thank you" letters from people throughout the country who were fortunate enough to find Sanus-Biotex. This proprietary formula has been a life saving gift for our family. Degenerative Myelopathy is a horrible disease and I can happily say our families fight (for our dog), against Degenerative Myelopathy would NOT have been successful without this amazing product...

"I can absolutely say that ordering Sanus-Biotex was the single most important thing I could have done in helping our dog fight and defeat this disease!"

If you have any questions regarding Sanus-Biotex and/or how it has helped our family dog - please do not hesitate to email me . I would be very happy to share our story and answer any questions (from my experience) that you may have on our success with stopping the progression Degenerative Myelopathy.
