Dog lovers who have brought home their first puppy will be thrilled with just how cute and cuddly they can be. Puppies are great fun, but they can turn out to be difficult to take care of when they grow older if they are not trained properly with good dog training commands. Training a puppy is simple; all you need is the right technique and good dog training commands. The fact is that there are no universal dog training commands for training dogs, as they are taught in all sorts of different languages. The trick is that you have to be consistent, sticking to only one or two dog training commands for the same action.

Of course, you can train a dog to get up when you say sit, but this just makes things more confusing. That is why you should stick to dog training commands that are easy to remember, for both you and the dog. Commands like ‘sit, heel, down, good dog’ are ones that you probably already know. Fetch, jump and come are some other pretty basic ones. For other actions, such as retrieving something, or performing an action (such as eliminating) you will want to pick out specific dog training commands that will work. The shorter the command is the better.

It is best to never use negative reinforcements when training a dog, which means that you shouldn’t punish or correct a dog that doesn’t obey a command. Rather, using a firm tone of voice and rewarding it with treats has a more positive effect overall. You can reserve punishment for serious offenses such as clawing on the furniture or urinating indoors. This should be no more than a firm rebuke and even a tap with something soft like a newspaper, which will convey your disappointment without actually hurting the animal.

The best dog training commands are short and are used with patience for the dog, along with a few treats. Start training as early as possible, and make sure your dog training commands sessions are not too long, otherwise the pup will get bored and lose focus. Don’t try and dog training commands that won’t be used, as you have to use the dog training commands regularly so that your dog does not forget them. Keep up your training throughout the day, and make sure that you are consistent in your rebukes and appraisals so that your dog becomes trained within a short amount of time.
