     The Story of a Pet Lover

Growing up, I have always been a fan of Lassie, Beethoven and Benjie. I抳e always thought that they were the best celebrities of their time. If you抮e wondering about this single-named actors, they are the three of the most famous pets of tinsel town - yes, they are dogs. There are other famous pets that I can remember: Babe and who could ever forget our winged friend, Paulie the parrot? If I try to mention all movies that had pets as stars, I will probably fill up this page without being able to discuss what I wanted to say.

I have always liked pets. I have about 10 dogs at home, 9 of which are mongrel and one is a rottweiler. Anyway, her name抯 Perky because as her name suggests, she is very perky, always moving from one room to another, climbing chairs and stairs. I remember when she was younger; I put her on top of a chair because I wanted to make her stop pacing the room. You know what she did? She jumped down and her knee was broken. I wanted to bring her to a vet but Perky didn抰 like traveling so I ended up taking care of her at home. After a few day, I noticed she wasn抰 eating her food. So I tried to cook for her, but she still wouldn抰 budge. My friend who is a certified pet lover told me to check her temperature and I found out that she had fever. I remember crying all the way to the vet because I was so afraid she would die. It wasn抰 because she was very expensive when I bought her from the pet shop; it was more of the fact that I treated her like my baby. I slept with her beside me. I bathed her. I fed her and gave her vitamins every day. I was afraid for her to die because I knew I was going to miss her.

I have always been active in international forums for per lovers and I found this site made in Indonesia. A little trivia: I was told that this is the only bilingual site in the country. Anyway, this site features purebred dogs, cats, and other exotic pets at good prices. They also claim that they have great choices so being the pet lover that I am, I just had to look. I see this cute West Highland white terrier and I fell in love immediately. You see, I had a terrier when I was younger, but it died because I failed to have it neutered and it got pregnant. I guess it was too small to bear puppies. I called her Kitty. Her name came from a private joke I shared with my sisters. My youngest sister called my terrier Kitty because she didn抰 know that she was a dog, and so the name stuck.

Anyway, I have found friends in the forums I am a member of. It抯 probably due to our similar liking for dogs that made us attracted with each other. Some of my friends in these forums come from other countries and in several of our discussions, I hear them talking about breeds of dogs I have never seen before. We exchange ideas on how to take better care of our pets. I am happy because I get to build lasting friendships with people of different nationalities. Aside from this, I know that through their advice, I am being a better pet owner and my pets love me even more.
