There Are Up and Coming Pet Centered Airlines

Not many dog owners are aware of this, but there are pet airlines being developed, because Families are wanting to take Fido, Spot or Suzy in tow with them and not wanting to leave them behind. This is a wonderful concept, with only one drawback, which is that these carriers only fly to a limited number of cities. However, that is quickly changing, with this demand growing rapidly. Airlines are realizing that people consider their dogs a prized member of the family, and someone that they do not want to leave behind when taking an extended vacation.

In other words, people are demanding and requiring for more suitable accommodations to be made for their pets, or else they are not opting to travel at all. This has been readily felt by the entire travel and hospitality industry as a whole, and they are quickly taking steps to change all of that. One of the first inventions is pet centered airline travel. This is by far, the highest recommended method for a person's dog to fly the friendly skies, because it is the safest and most enjoyable. After all what dog does not like being doted on constantly. Well that is exactly what they will get when they fly on one of these specialized airlines.

As enticing as these airways are, there is still some preparation you should do on your end, for the airline cannot take care of everything concerning your pet. You need to take them to their vet for a thorough examination, and make sure all of their rabies; immunizations and shots are all up to date and current. No airline is going to board your pet without proof of these records. A dog tag with all of the current identifying information is crucial for in the rare event of an emergency happening.

Even though these airlines are pet centered, you should always book well in advance, and be willing to supply as much information as possible. For instance, if your dog requires a certain medication to be administered every few hours, or has any health issues like diabetes or asthma, the customer service representative should be notified of these ailments up front. That way there will be no surprises, and everyone will be on the same page with your pet. With written instructions, the flight/pet attendant will be able to administer the medication that your dog requires during flight.

On these special airlines, your pet is checked on every few minutes to ensure their absolute comfort and safety. The temperatures are climate controlled to ensure that your pet does not get too hot or cold. It is strongly suggested that you do not feed your dog for four hours prior to his/her flight to make sure that they do not get nauseous during flight. Have all emergency information boarded with the dog and they will be able to enjoy a pleasurable flight. One your flight lands, you can pick up Spot at his arrival gate as well.
