1. Like dogs and cats, rabbits need regular check ups from your veterinarian. They need a checkup to assess their weight, nails and teeth.

2. Your vet will check for any sore pots or lumps on their belly.

3. Be cautious and be observant about their front teeth. If you let them grow alone, they will stop eating and die. You should buy chew sticks or hard snacks for them to chew on. These hard foods will grind their teeth and wear them down. If you noticed that your rabbit stops eating even for one day, you should bring him to the veterinarian immediately.

4. Make sure that they have enough and steady supply of Timothy hay because they love to eat them and they can live completely on them. It is considered an essential food for their diet.

5. Make it a point to fed carrots, pellet food, vegetables once a week.

6. You need to trim their nail on a regular basis. Avoid trimming the nails until the pink section of their toes because it will bleed tremendously. If it happens, make sure to put a mixture of water and flour. Be sure that it is very thick before putting them on their nail.

7. If your pet gets hairballs, make sure to feed them two-inch strip of cat lax everyday. Hairballs are compact mass of hair formed in the alimentary canal as a result of licking their fur. If they stop eating, he probably have a hairball. You can also give him pineapple juice to make things flow, otherwise call the veterinarian immediately to have an immediate checkup.

8. If you fail to remove the hairball, your rabbit will have a hard time going to the bathroom. If left untreated, your pet is at risk of dying.

9. Make it a point to clean their hutch regularly to avoid accumulation of feces and urine.
