Cat Exercise

Cat Exercises to Keep Your Pet Healthy

Cats may not be as enthusiastic when it comes to exercising compared to dogs but it does not mean that you should just give up. Many veterinarians suggest pet cat owners to encourage their cats to exercise to promote healthy and strong body even at old age. It may not be an easy task but it is definitely worth your efforts. Here are some exercise tips to keep your cats active:

Surround your cat with toys ?the first trick that would be best to try is to surround your cat with various toys. You do not need to buy expensive toys for that matter. Ordinary toys that you can find in the house like balls, cubes, hoops, rope, ping-pong balls and pens would do the trick. The tendency when the cat is surrounded by these toys is that the cat will have no choice but to move around the toys and eventually start some exercise routines.

Seek help from a laser ?you will surely find it entertaining when the cat starts chasing laser light. By pointing laser lights somewhere in a darker room, you could surely expect to see your cat chasing the light over and over. To make the activity more interesting you could follow up with a toy that the cat could truly catch. This way, your pet will not get too frustrated and tired. This activity is definitely a great exercise for your pet.

Make sure to use catnip wisely 朿atnip is a useful tool to encourage your cat to exercise however, you should also be cautious in using this. Not all cats are responsive to catnip while some cats become too aggressive from this.
Therefore, it is not recommendable to give catnip before stressful event like a visit in the vet or a bathe.

Try to bribe your cats with some treats ?it is also great to use treats to make your cat exercise. You could use puzzle toys wherein the cat will get the treat at the end of the maze or something. You could also try to scatter some treat all over the house and allow your cat to find everything. This activity will surely keep your cat active and wide-awake.

Play outside ?is your cat always sleeping in the couch? Why don't you then try bringing them in the nearest park for some playtime? The cat will surely feel more active under the natural light of the sun with other pets around as well. Sometimes, a playmate is all it takes for your cat to get more motivated to exercise.

Share your treadmill with your cat ?believe it or not, your cat can run on the treadmill. It is best to practice your cat with this activity while they are young. However, you should make sure to watch closely to keep them safe while they are running on the treadmill.

As a pet owner, you should make sure that your pet is always healthy and strong. Besides feeding them with nutritious foods, you should also encourage them to be active and exercise regularly. Your cat would surely have more fun when you join them in their "exercise routines".

In terms of buying cat toys, it is advisable to double-check the components of the toys to make sure that everything is safe for your cat.
