Taking care of dog's ear is very essential but unfortunately it is the most ignored part of grooming a pet. Ear care must not be ignored at any cost as it will lead to infection and consequently in worse case, the ear may have to be operated.

Arrange the table Before you begin the cleaning process, make sure that you have arranged everything in place such as ear cleaning liquid, ear buds and other things that may be required to clean its ears. When all these things are arranged in the right place then it becomes easy and takes less in the process. You may also require some treats to distract the dog so that it does not run away while cleaning.

The dog must be calm Make sure that the dog is calm and composed while its ear is being cleaned. If it is restless then it will move and this may harm him. Take a friend's help while cleaning its ear to avoid any such unfortunate incident. Never force the dog for this; if it is not cooperating at that time, then you can try cleaning its ear another time.

Wipe out the dirt You need to moist a cotton ball with mineral oil and then gently place the cotton ball inside the dog's ear and wipe out the dirt. You will have to do it carefully so that it does not harm the dog. Make sure that you do not insert the cotton ball too deep inside the ear as it may harm the animal.

After one round of cleaning is over, the next you need to moist the cotton ball again in mineral oil and carry on with the second round. Repeat this procedure for the other ear as well.

After the ear cleaning is over, you need to give the dog some treat for its time and patience.
