Dog training requires a lot of attention, care and the owner or handler must be in control of the dog at all times. It is this type of training that sets the foundations of success.

*Form a bond of affection and attention with your dog. The future welfare and success of training depends on this bond that you form with the dog.

*Never correct, chastise or scold your unnecessarily and for no reason. On give a positive correction straight after an incident. If you are not sure the dog did not understand what being asked of him or her. Deliberate disobedience must be dealt with instantly with a positive correction.

*Always remember that a dog cannot ask questions or talk back, neither can a totally understand what you say. Keep the commands simple can make sure they understands.

*Being a successful owner and handler depends on your ability to make a dog understand what is expected of him or her. Keep on instilling the commands into their memory until it becomes a habit and an automatic response.

*Always use attention, affection, praise and kindness to your dog. If you do need to give a correction make sure it is positive and firm, so they will remember. A very short time will save them from ongoing correction.

*Be fair, consistent, patient, decisive and firm with your dog. Every time you interact with your dog be sure what you want to achieve can be accomplished.

*Never try to teach or enforce to do anything until you as the handler or owner have a good understanding of how to teach the dog. Have a clear mental picture a each stage.

*Try to eliminate the mistakes. If you do make a mistake in the exercise go back to where your dog was succeeding build their confidence. Cut the exercise down to achievable sections and move forward. It never hurts to go back to come forwards.

*If a mistake is made and not done anything about it. The mistake may mean several hours of work for you. Untold harm maybe caused to the dog. The dog in serve cases never eases the mistake.

*Reward them for positive actions and response. Find out what motivates your dog positively. What is your dog's number one motivation i.e. Food, play items, attention, affection or maybe praise.

*Always finish dog training on a positive point. Always finish dog training with a positive point has been achieved. Never finish dog training on a wrong point.

*Only dog train for short periods of time. For time that is long enough that the dog is interested and does not become bored and tired. If this happens finish the training on a positive note.

*As much as possible always have your dog with you. You cannot always train your dog, but by having your dog with you a majority of the time. Your dog will become use to your words, behavior, actions and different surroundings. This will make dog training easier.
