Call them fluffy or fur balls, but there is no denying that these small (or giant sized) fur balls are a sight to look at. Some of them are so fluffy and adorable that you can easily mistake them for stuffed animals. Most of these fur balls on four legs were bred specifically for cuddling and warming up laps. They come in all shapes and sizes. While many of them are small sized, some of them do come in larger size with a fleecy coat. Take a look at the top 10 most fluffy dog breeds

1. American Eskimo

This breed is as fluffy as it can get. The immaculate fluffy white coat sticks out in a way that it appears even fluffier. The best part is that you do not have to worry about grooming them. Brush them twice a week and they are all set. Special care may be required during shedding season.

2. Shih Tzu

They are small and sturdy and this toy-sized dog breed has a long, flowing double coat. They love being your companions and can make good guard dogs. Regular trimming is needed to keep that coat from getting inside their eyes and all over your place. Regular brushing is needed.

3. Maltese

This is an aristocrat of the canine breed. This toy-sized breed is very brave, playful and not to mention, very gentle. Their long silky coat gives them a fluffy appearance, but it requires regular grooming too.

4. Pomeranian

They descended from the larger sled dogs of the Spitz family and still have the fox-like appearance along with a thick and glorious coat. They are small dogs with a big attitude.

5. Poodle

Fluffy doesn't necessarily mean straight, sometimes the coat can be curly, such as in Poodles. The fashionable and little snobbish dog makes a great family pet. However grooming them isn't a cakewalk, and some people prefer professional groomers for them.

6. Chow Chow

The cute little Chow-chow puppies look like small and fluffy teddy bears and you just cannot resist picking one up. However, they are difficult to train due to their stubborn nature and they also need a lot of grooming.

7. Bichon Frise'

The fluffy white coat of this dog makes him look like a white powder puff. In fact their name 'Bichon' says 'small, long-haired dog' in French.

8. Keeshond

These dogs have an impressive fluffy coat and a nicely plumed tail and do not require much grooming. They can be heavy shedders and will need extensive grooming during that season.

9. Samoyed

Originating from the Samoyed tribe of Siberia, the beautiful Nordic breed makes a good pet as well as a working dog. The hair is so fluffy and thick that you can barely see his skin upon parting.

10. Coton de Tulear

Their name literally means 'cotton' in French and they are aptly named so due to their cotton-like, fluffy coat. These are gentle and alert dogs and do well in apartments.
