Cruising With Morkie Mini Puppies

29 11:16:24
The Morkie, also known as Yorktese, is a crossbreed of the Maltese and Yorkshire terrier, is always ready to ride. They dream of cruising on little road trips, their typically long soft hair blowing in the breeze, rolling out on the highway to go hang with their friends. This should be of no surprise as their parent breeds are known to be full of personality and demand for attention.

Small like their parent breeds, they travel easy, don't eat much and don't take up much space. Sometimes drop eared and long tailed like the Maltese or ears erect and tail docked like the Yorkie, Morkie Mini Puppies are typically soft of coat and colored with apricot, white, brown and most common black and tan, which will fade later in life to a silver grayish color. Fearless, energetic and easily excitable, they are ready to see the world. However, they are loyal and dedicated to their humans, so they won't get lost too easily being on your lap.

Health of the Morkie tends to be rather good but it can suffer from some of the same health issues as both parent breeds. However, when provided with good care and regular checkups, the Morkie usually will live from 14 to 16 years. This includes 3 small meals a day, regularly brushing their teeth as well as their hair, unless you keep it groomed short. Cleaning their eyes with a washcloth and keeping some tear remover around is also important to avoid letting hair, dirt and debris build up around their eyes. Also be careful to watch for knots around their feet and legs as, being so close to the ground, they have a tendency to get stuff stuck in their fur. Get them used to the bath early so they are cool with it down the road.

Morkies don't mind chilling at home though, and they don't require a big yard. They are happy in in apartments and condos so long as they are close to their family and not left alone for very long. But they do dig a nice long walk outside and some play time aside from road trips. But watch the kids with them as they are fairly fragile little friends regardless of their fearless nature. If you leave them to their own devices without enough regular exercise and they get bored, they will turn something you would prefer left alone into a chew toy or annoy your guests to occupy their time.

They are good with kids, but it's important for kids to know that certain activities like screaming, sitting and crying or flailing their arms in distress are actually invitations for the Morkie[H1] to be caring, protective and playful, even if that's not the attention the child wants. After all, the Morkie is only doing what it usually wants, sharing loving close attention.

So if you like to hit the road and visit with friends often, these little road dogs are the perfect companion on those long lonely highways in between, and can be a great companion for many years of travel.
