German shepherd

German shepherd, more popular as Alsatian, is a relatively new dog breed. It was basically raised to herd and guard sheep. Poodle

This is another famous dog breed and is being known for being one of the most intelligent breeds. This breed is found in different sizes and coat colors. They were initially raised as water dogs. St. Bernard

The St Bernard breed gained prominence with the blockbuster movie Beethoven, is a very loving dog. Initially these were used as rescue dogs in the ice covered terrains of the Italian as well as Swiss Alps. Doberman Pinscher
