Training your dog in its early stages of life will keep you safe and give you peace of mind away from some annoying dog behaviors. This can be done a few months after they are born, when they start displaying aggressive character. It can also be done just after obtaining your mid-aged dog from the pet shop. Training helps instruct dogs against uncalled for biting, chewing away at your household property, or even barking or urinating while in the house. Through remote dog training collars we can communicate to dogs that such behavior is unacceptable.

Remote shock collars are special kinds of dog collars in that they are equipped to produce a tinkling static pulse or a mild electric shock when the dog performs a deed you deem unacceptable. Some types of collars also provide tone and/or vibration as a warning stimulus prior to releasing shock and eventually these warning signals will achieve the same effect of shock through a period of training. Incorporating such stimuli with a remote control capability has given pet owners more convenient behavioral control ability. With remote control collars you do not have to approach the pet but rather you can correct it from isolation. Dogs thus get a shocking feel that is a natural occurrence when they perform particular unacceptable acts.

These collars come in the form of an adjustable collar with two prongs and a remote controller device. The dog is subjected to the electrical pulse through the prongs when the collar is activated via the remote controller. Some remote dog training collars come fully waterproofed hence they are safe in the rain or even when the dog swims in a pond or river.

The beauty of this control method is that most remote dog training collars come with different levels of static pulses such that the dog can be suitably corrected according to the extent of the deed they have performed. Pet owners are usually advised to start with minimal levels and only increase the levels when the dog does not respond to a particular level of shock. The dog will thus be able to learn of the different extents of its bad behavior. Another good thing is that the market has rechargeable remote control systems and even others that can control up to three dogs from a single remote controller.

Though some people do not approve the use of remote dog training collars, these devices have been tested and approved to be safe for dog training. The electrical pulses are regulated to safe levels hence by no means do these collars put your pet dog at the risk of a disastrous electrical shock. There are articles and videos available online on how to safely and correctly use these collars to train dogs.
