Some might crawl into places like drain pipes, sewer drains and under vehicles, so try to check these places. In addition, do not forget to look behind, under or inside washing machines, stoves, refrigerators and dish washers. Also in boxes, under beds, in closets, cabinets, shelves and others.

.Search the neighborhood. Do not just walk the streets and call your pet. You will likely to find your pet by knocking on your neighbor's doors and ask if anyone has seen your dog. Write down description of your lost dog together with your phone number and leave it to them. Ask everybody you run across if they saw or notice anything strange like strange vehicles, people or activities. The information might help in finding your lost dog.

.Hand out fliers. Hand out fliers with your dog's picture on them. Describe your pet especially the identifying characteristic. Fliers must also have your phone number. Post them at grocery stores, animal shelters, veterinary offices, pet shops, traffic intersections, feed stores, grooming shops, gas and service stations and restaurants and other public places. You can also place advertisements at newspapers, radio stations and at the web.

.Check local shelters. Go to all local shelters or government agencies in charged with picking up stray animals. Leave a picture of your pet with your phone number at each shelter.

.Make some noise. Call your pet's name while walking around the neighborhood. Your pet can hear you from great distances. If your pet has a favorite squeaky toy, you can bring it along to help you make familiar noises.

.Place familiar scents. Dogs are good in detecting through scents. Labrador Retrievers are curious breeds and tends to follow interesting scents such as foods and even your personal belongings. Place some of your dirty clothes outside such as shirts and socks for him to recognize the smell. You can also place his bedding, favorite toys and treats outside.
