It has been tried, tested and proven that your dog or puppy will act in response more proficiently and effectively if they learn with positive dog training. They react and respond to the commands given to them in a positive style because it illustrates that you get pleasure from what they are doing, which in turn, causes them to continue reacting to the command.

When your puppy is not reacting, you can look away or abandon the room and let him keep on by himself for a moment. They will become upset when they realize you do not want to play with them at this time.

Let's say you are instructing your dog to sit. Point to the ground, firmly say sit, and wait until your dog sits.?Do not force your dog's butt to the ground to instruct your dog what you want and what "Sit" means.

Wait, allowing him to do it naturally, and reiterate the word "sit" and then give him a treat and some praise.

If your dog does not sit, don't yell or punish the dog.?Walk away, then come back and try it again. Continue this routinely until he responds on command.?Keep dog treats dandy and when your dog sits, be sure to give him a treat so he knows he did something good and will want to sit when he's commanded.

If your dog loves to play then you can show him a good reaction after he obeys by playing catch with him. You can also have a favorite toy for him to play with when the good deed is done.

Be sure to reward your dog immediately after obeying so he will know what he's doing is a good thing.

This will persuade him to do it more and after being done on a consistent basis, he will get the gist of it.

Of course this means you have to be consistent with positive dog training. You have to remember to always give treats upon correct reaction. You must praise him like "Good boy" and rub him around the ears and on the belly.

Never, ever hit at him. I know it seems easy to just yell and swing and it may even be a natural reaction on your part. However, you should try to refrain from doing this.

This will only cause the dog to get confused and he may even start to respond to the negative reactions in a negative way by continuing to do the incorrect action.

Remember, dogs love any attention whether positive or negative.
