Reasons To Use Dog Crates

You might consider putting your dog in a crate to be a cruel thing to do, but you will want to remember that many good reasons exist to use dog crates. Some of them might be ones that you never thought about before, but some of them could be ones that you read about all the time or that your vet even advised you on.

One reason to use these is they can be a great aid in potty training. You will want to realize that your dog is not going to want to go potty in an area that they sleep in. So if you have them sleep in there crate they will not typically go potty in this area. You will want to remember to take them out often though to ensure that they get the proper training, and when they go you will want to leave them out of there crate for a period of time.

Another reason that you will want to use them is that your dog is going to be able to stay there when you are out on the town. So rather than coming home to your home destroyed you will be able to come home and know that your place is going to be in one piece.

Something else that you will like about this is going to be that if your female decides to go in heat your going to have a safe place to keep her in. Rather than have to worry about her accidentally getting pregnant you will find that the crate will help keep the males from reaching her.

Sometimes you could place an aggressive animal in the crate until they settle down some. If you are having issues with an aggressive dog though your going to want to consult with a behaviorist to get to the root of the problem.

You will find that your pet is going to have some place to go into when they are scared. The crate could be a place of security for your pet to go into and then you will know where they are when something does go wrong. This can also be a great place that you can put them in to sleep in at night so you will not have to worry about them climbing in bed with you.

Many people are going to think that it will be cruel putting there pet in dog crates, but they might need to realize that this is not cruel. Once they have found out the benefits of using these it will not be seen as being cruel, but instead can be seen as a training tool.
