When you see a shop or sign offering puppies for sale, your heartstrings
can't help but feel pulled. You picture an adorable little face with
tiny little paws and you are hooked. It is important to remember that
those little ones grow into larger animals and will become a major part
of your home and family. For this reason it is important that when
making a selection you think about not only the present but the future
as well.
Size
Puppies for sale are smaller than what they are going to one day grow up
to be. However, their starting size can be an indication of how big
they are going to get. In fact, take a look at the paws as this will
give you some idea of what this pup抯 future holds. While they are all
adorable, you want to think about the space that you have in your home
and yard. Do you have enough space for a German Shepard to get in all
the exercise that he will need to stay content? Or do you live in a tiny
apartment where a smaller breed might be a little more comfortable?
Hair
So there are a few rare hairless breeds, but most puppies for sale are
going to have long or short hair. If you have any types of allergies to
pet dander, a short haired dog will be a little easier to live with. If
you love to take your pets to the groomer for the full experience,
complete with bow, a long haired breed would be perfect. For some
people, this is not a factor to take into consideration.
Sex
It may not matter to you whether the puppies for sale are male or
female. Some people believe that a female dog may fit in better while
others would never consider anything but a male. This is a personal
preference. If you do have other animals it would be worth the time to
research and find out how sex figures into the interactions of your
pets. For example if you already have a male dog or cat it may be
difficult to introduce another male addition to your home.
Breed
Many pet owners will tell you that they really enjoy one or two breeds
and tend to search out only those types when it comes to puppies for
sale. If you have never owned a pet before, spend some time finding out
which breed will fit well with your personality. If you are an active
person that enjoys camping and traveling, choose a pet that will be able
to go with you on these types of adventures. If you are a social person
that spends time with friends (who also have pets) choose a breed that
is easy going and gets along well with others.
Just like people, each of the puppies for sale will end up with their
own personality. Some will be more relaxed while others will be more
active. As you look through each of the options, try to find one that
really stands out to you; one that just seems like it would easily fall
right into step with you.
