Was Life Possible Before The Internet?

27 12:02:05
Once upon a time we all wondered what we did before television. These days it seems almost impossible to imagine how we could have coped without the internet. What did we do with ourselves? How could we not tweet, blog, organise revolutions, chat with our ex's or re-unite with our long lost friends? Surely we can't have just sat in front of the telly? Come to think of it, how on earth did we manage with a telly that had to stay in one room and dictated what we watched and when? Like all great technological advances, the internet has made our lives easier, although if you can't get out of the house without tweeting, your surname is Mubarak, your ex's constant IM's are making you fearful for your pet rabbit and you don't know how to explain to those long lost friends there is a reason for the 'lost' part of the phrase, then you may have some reservations about new media. One area that we can't complain about is internet shopping, whether that is for clothes, furniture, holidays or even online groceries.

How Fresh Are Your Veggies?

Many people are dubious about shopping for groceries online, until they have tried it. Most of us like to give our tomatoes a good squeeze before we buy, though these days you seem to get some very funny looks in supermarkets if you try it. Shopping online for groceries is different to other online shopping and anyone who is wary is right to be so. To be fair to the supermarkets who provide delivery services, the quality they send through is good. There's a logic to this; nobody is going to use their services if they supply poor quality groceries. For the big weekly shop for groceries, these online services are generally a great option, saving time if not money. However, for those of us who are in charge of the provision of cupboards, fridges and freezers, these online services have some drawbacks.

Evolutionary Tactics

Once upon a time, not so very long ago and not so very far away, there was a much more efficient delivery service. Like the Dodo it was facing extinction, but in this case its impending demise was more to do with large supermarkets than botanists and hunters. It was called the 'Milkman'. Unlike the Dodo, the Milkman knew that in order to survive he was going to have to adapt. Adaptation included things like the 'Milkwoman' and also a rather exciting new range of products. Nothing wrong with milk of course, but add to this an online grocery delivery service and you have a real piece of inspiration.

What can your Milkman do for you?

The advantages the Milkmen and women of the land have to offer over your average delivery service has got to be of interest to any housewife/husband. For a start they offer excellent value on over 250 products, mostly daily essentials such as bread, vegetables, cleaning products, pet food or even chocolates and treats. Between each of our big weekly or monthly shops, the little shops can eat into our time and money, but ordering online groceries through your local milkman can solve the problem. In addition to the range of products, ordering times can be as late as nine pm, delivery is first thing the next day and in most cases you can forget the delivery charge! Yes, that's right free delivery! Ordering online groceries in this way is simple and straightforward and what's more you'll get a friendly service from a man or woman who you'll soon be wondering how you ever managed to live without!
