Does Your Child Want A Pet? Try Virtual Adoptions First!

As parents we know the time comes sooner or later - your child asks for a pet dog or cat. The problem isn't that you don't like animals its that you simply cannot have a pet where you live!

Well, don't worry, I think I have the perfect solution! One thing I would suggest is virtual pet adoption or online pets. These darlings really aren't pets at all, at least in the way we know them to be. Instead, these are online pets that your child can have - without the allergies and the messes!

From what I understand a lot of people besides parents have tried the online pet adoption option simply because it really can be so much fun and entertaining! Its pretty simple the way it works. Find a website that has virtual pets, virtual pet adoptions or online pets, sign up with the website with your own account or if your child is old enough let them have their own account. In some cases some of these websites will allow your child to play in a VERY safe way. Or they can even play offline which is what some parents actually prefer.

In these cases you will probably need to download a program of some sort so that your kid can have a "platform" for the game. Once you or they are done signing up you will most likely be asked to "make" your pet.

These pets can pretty much be any animal you want, plus you can customize them with different colors, clothing items and accessories! This part could end up being very fun for your kid, I know I find it pretty entertaining myself! Once your child makes the pet they can then start playing with it.

They will need to do things (the same things with a regular pet) such as walk them, feed them, play with them and even bathe them. On some websites that I saw they even had a little "town" where you could take your dog into a store and all kinds of interesting things. The

great thing about this is there is no mess, your kid still gets to have a pet and they could end up learning a few major points in responsibility with this entire activity. Plus, if days or weeks down the line they get sick of playing with Spot or Arnold, they can simply stop going to the website. We know it isn't that easy when you have a real pet, is it!
