Is Pine Littler Better then Clay?

Many people don抰 realize that most of your cat allergies lay within your cat抯 litter box. The main cat littler most people will use is clay. Mainly because clay is cheaper and easier to clean. Well not in my experience. Pine beats Clay any day of the week! This is true for so many reasons!

Clay vs. Pine;

Clay;

?When you are cleaning the clay litter the dust that is lifting into the air has cat urine in it, even though it is clumped up it was still mixed in with the lifting fumes, which you are breathing. Pretty gross when you stop and think about it.

?Your cat will flip the clay litter out of the box and all over the floor, spreading the allergens all over the place. It will even stick to its paws and track all over your house.

?I honestly can never tell when the clay was bad, it always smelt horrible and my cat would always throw most of it out of the box so I just changed it when it got low.

Pine;

?While cleaning the pine you will notice it has no fumes; it absorbs into the pine and breaks up. Which is good, because I hate that cloud of dust in your face when you dump it out.

?With pine my cat can抰 kick it up as much and won抰 sick to them. And the clean up stays pretty much in one area.

?Also pine is usually easy to detect when the litter needs to be fully changed out for new. It抯 all broken down and fluffy.

Now to throw something else into the mix. I have recently come across corn litter. Though it has all the qualities of pine, my cat still throws it out of his box. Yet, I抳e noticed that I抳e had no allergic reaction to the corn. So I抦 kind of stuck between liking it and hating it. So give that one a go if you find pine not to be in your liking because pine and corn are better for the environment. Clay just sits in the land fields and is gross all around.
