BiOrb Life Aquariums - Any Good?

25 17:36:00

Today we shall check out the various aquariums from the BiOrb range. First though, a little bit about the manufacturers - Reef One. Reef One was founded in 1998 after designing the earliest BiOrb aquarium. In those days they solely sold the one size of BiOrb and replacement filters. Everything has changed a little since that time. Over 500,000 BiOrb aquariums have already been sold and Reef One now manufactures and sells a number of different sized BiOrbs and many, many accessories and associated supplies around the globe. These days there are 3 different size BiOrb aquariums - the BiOrb 15 aquarium, BiOrb 30 aquarium & the BiOrb 60 aquarium (the numbers denote the approx. amount of water that they hold in litres). Furthermore, there is the BiOrb Life range which is a particularly stylish and nice looking designer chic offering. These are also available in 3 sizes - BiOrb Life 30 (30 litre volume), BiOrb Life 45 (45 litre volume) & BiOrb Life 60 (60 litre volume).

One can choose from black, white & red and are available with integrated 'advanced' water filtration system which looks like it's adequate for some set ups. These are cold water aquariums although a heater can be added if you'd like to use them as a tropical fish tank. The standard BiOrb range ie. The 15, 30 & 60 are available with either silver or black detailing and there are 3 variants of the 30 & 60 model (the BiOrb 15 aquarium is only available as one model this includes built in filtration). The BiOrb 30 aquarium and BiOrb 60 aquarium are offered with filtration only, filtration and a built in light source (halogen only for the 30, halogen or LED for the 60) or with filtration, light source & heater (for a tropical fish tank set up). Most of the BiOrb range have become very well liked throughout the last few years mainly due to their great looks and easy set up and maintenance. They're made Plexiglas acrylic which looks good and in addition gives added strength over glass alternatives. They are really particularly suited to those people who are starting out in fishkeeping or those hunting for a simple yet stylish tank that will look really good in any room with any decor and who do not want to spend a substantial amount of time looking after the fish.

Prices range between around 60 for the BiOrb 15 aquarium up to around 250 for the larger BiOrb Life 60 aquarium. A very good place to check out the lowest prices around is Aquarium House (http://www.aquariumhouse.co.uk) - they are a price and specification comparison website where you can check out the best deals on aquariums, aquarium supplies, fishkeeping books, fish food etc., etc. I have used them for a time now and can recommend them.
