The World Ocean is an object of industrial activity, navigation and, of course, natural resources extraction. It cannot but pose a significant threat to essential marine residents such as whales, dolphins, fish and turtles as the brightest representatives of marine wildlife. Indeed, numerous species are recognized as endangered ones or even worse on the verge of extinction. Apparently, many animals suffer a lot from human activity, which leads to extermination, pollution and shifts in food chains. The list of endangered species in the World Ocean is getting bigger from year to year.

  1. Atlantic blue-finned tuna as one of the most valuable fish species appears to be under threat, much because of massive fishing. Specifically, it is associated with catching young individuals that later are raised and fed in captivities. To date, the population of Atlantic blue-finned tuna counts about 25 thousand individuals.
  2. Grey whales are perhaps the most unique among whale species. In particular, instead of common back fin it has crenulations. These whales are also famous for sounds they produce - roars, singing and growls. Living in California neighborhood, grey whales are often referred to as Californian whales. Decades ago there were three main areas of grey whales' habitat. To be more precised, in North Atlantic their population was totally exterminated due to massive whales' catching.
