Why Free To Good Home Is Not A Good Idea

Most people who are looking for a home for some puppies or kittens may have the best of intentions. I wouldn't recommend giving them away unless it's someone you know or a referral from someone you know. The problem is people simply don't know the harsh realities of what can happen. There are people out there who spend all of their days adopting free animals. These animals are then tortured in labs. They sometimes bring children with them to make it appear more real, like they are a family. Don't ever fall for this. Not when there are labs paying them cash for these animals. There is a company here in the US that kills 500 animals per day and this is how they get most of their animals. Please don't contribute to it. People will also adopt free animals to use them as bait for fighting dogs. This is done to dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds. Think about it...Anyone who is evil enough to fight their own dog against another dog, will not think twice about throwing another animal in there. These poor animals are literally ripped to shreds. They don't stand a chance. If you do not believe this happens or can happen to you when trying to adopt out a puppy or kitten, or any animal, you are wrong. Wake up.

If you must find a home for an animal, charge a fee. Someone who genuinely wants that animal will gladly pay for it. You are not trying to make money on this animal. You can buy them a gift certificate for pet food with the money later on, or even put it towards the animal's first vet visit. It's a way for the adopter to show that things are on the up and up. People who sell animals to labs or need bait animals don't want to pay anything. Strong red flag if you come across someone like this. Unless you can do a home check and follow up, do not adopt out that animal. With all of the sick people in the world, these are issues for which you need to be aware. -Tiffany
